I think five minutes passed but it's been an hour. Is time-blindness part of ADHD?

Yes. Time blindness is one of the most under recognized ADHD symptoms. It’s not about not caring about time, it’s about difficulty sensing the passage of time accurately. Five minutes can feel like an hour, or an hour can disappear instantly, especially when focused or overwhelmed. This happens because the brain struggles to anchor itself in the present and future simultaneously. Without strong internal time cues, people rely heavily on external reminders, alarms, or urgency. That’s why deadlines feel suddenly urgent only when they’re right on top of you. It’s not poor planning, it’s impaired time perception.
