Anyone else only struggle with boring tasks but do great at complex ones?
I can do complicated things but can't do simple ones. Is that ADHD?

Yes, this is a classic ADHD experience. ADHD isn’t about difficulty with hard tasks, it’s about difficulty with low stimulation tasks. Complex, urgent, or interesting work can provide enough dopamine to fully engage attention. Simple, repetitive, or boring tasks often don’t.
That’s why people can manage high level problem solving but avoid emails, paperwork, or basic admin. It looks inconsistent from the outside, but neurologically it makes sense. Performance is driven by interest and urgency, not importance.
This mismatch often causes a lot of shame, but it’s a hallmark of ADHD, not a character flaw.
