Is it possible to have ADHD if I did well in school growing up?

Yes. Good grades do not rule out ADHD. Many children with ADHD succeed academically through intelligence, structure, pressure, or fear of failure, while struggling internally. They may rely heavily on last minute effort, over preparation, or external support. Symptoms often become more apparent later, when structure decreases and demands increase. Clinicians look at effort, stress, and patterns, not just outcomes. Doing well on paper doesn’t mean things were easy.
