Sometimes I get super focused but not on what I actually need to do. Is this a med issue or just ADHD focus quirks?

Yes, that can happen. Medication improves the ability to sustain attention, but it does not automatically choose the right target. If you start focusing on something low priority, you might hyperfocus there. This is why intention setting matters. Deciding your top task before the medication fully kicks in can guide attention in a helpful direction. If hyperfocus feels excessive or rigid, dose adjustments can be considered. It should feel supportive, not trapping.
