Feeling easily rejected in relationships or friendships is common in ADHD. This is often due to emotional dysregulation, which makes feelings more intense and harder to manage. Even small or unclear interactions can feel personal or threatening.
Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) is common in ADHD. It causes strong emotional reactions to perceived criticism or rejection, even if none is intended. This can lead to withdrawing, overcompensating, or feeling shame.
Past experiences, difficulty reading social cues, anxiety, or low self-esteem can make this worse.
Feeling sensitive to rejection is not a flaw. With proper supports and strategies, it can be managed, improving relationships and emotional well-being.
