Modern education relies heavily on sustained attention, sitting still, long periods of independent work, and delayed rewards. These demands directly strain executive functioning. ADHD brains tend to learn better through interaction, movement, feedback, and interest based engagement. Large class sizes, standardized pacing, and constant evaluation leave little room for variability in attention or processing style. Clinicians often note that it’s not that ADHD brains are less capable, but that the system is poorly matched to how they work best.
