Rigid schedules can be helpful when they provide structure and reduce decision fatigue. However, they become harmful when they ignore variability in energy, focus, or sleep. ADHD brains benefit from structure with flexibility. Fixed expectations without room for adjustment can increase shame and burnout. The goal is rhythm, not rigidity. Schedules that allow movement, breaks, and buffer time tend to support ADHD functioning more sustainably.
